Using the Help Menu for Microsoft Office

Ever not know how to do something in a Microsoft Office program?  Even the most advanced users struggle to figuring things out at  times.  This is why Microsoft has included a Help program that will answer practically every question that you could have.

In Office 2003, you can click "Help" on the Menu bar.

In Office 2007, 2010, 2013, you can click the blue circle with the question mark.  Or you can go to File and locate Help at the bottom.

For any version, hitting F1 will bring up the Help features.  Simply type in what you want to do and the program will show you a list options.  Scroll through the options and select the item that best fits what you are trying to do.

I often have students who become frustrated when they don't know how to do something.  Showing them how to use the Help menu puts a great portion of the learning back into the their hands.  Using the Help menu can be very empowering.

And if for some reason, you can't find the answer in the Help menu - do a quick internet search.  Between those to resources, you should be able to figure out how to do anything in Microsoft Office.
